Newton Mothers’ Forum is thrilled to announce the Keynote Speaker for the evening will be Dr. Jean Kilbourne, Author/Speaker/Filmmaker. Dr. Kilbourne is an internationally recognized expert on addictions, gender issues, and the media. She has been described as “a superstar lecturer” by The Boston Globe and has spoken at about half of all the colleges and universities in the U.S. and many conferences. Her first film, “Killing Us Softly: Advertising’s Image of Women” is among the most popular educational films of all time and is the topic of her presentation for NMF. She is also a well-known author, with titles such as “So Sexy So Soon: The New Sexualized Childhood and What Parents Can Do to Protect Their Kids” and “Can’t Buy My Love: How Advertising Changes the Way We Think and Feel.” In recognition of her important work, she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in October.
