“Please Sir, I want some more”…

There are still a few spots open for the Newton Youth Players’ summer theatre program production of “Oliver!”.

The first rehearsal will take place on June 27th at Newton City Hall in the War Memorial Auditorium. Rehearsals are from 9:00 a.m. – noon, giving ample time to work on choreography, scenery and props production. The subsequent rehearsals and performance will be at Franklin Elementary School, 125 Derby Street in Newton. The performance is July 17th. Please register at www.newtonyouthplayers.com

For those looking for a full day of theatrical experience, there is a wonderful companion afternoon program “Choices” from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Directed by Marlene Fereshetian and Ruth Housman, it is an original story building program, using music, humor, magic, dance and art. Newton Community Farm Seeking Students for High School Summer Intern Program

Newton Community Farm (303 Nahanton Street, Newton) is now accepting inquiries for our High School Summer Intern program. Summer internships are unpaid opportunities for high school students to learn about organic and community farming in a fun, friendly environment. No experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and work hard. Minimum requirement for the internship is 8AM to 12PM, two days per week for two weeks, but can expand up to five days per week (Tuesday through Saturday) for as many weeks as you like. Newton Community Farm Announces Spring & Summer 2013 Programs for Youth & Families

Children and families, join us for vacation week programs and other classes during the spring. If you are looking for summer programs for your children (pre-school through grade 9), check out our popular offerings including Farm Sprouts, Little Diggers, Farmer in Training, and Socially Aware Young (SAY) Farmers. TeenLife LIVE! Community Service Fair & Expo March 3, 12-4PM

Make sure not to miss our sixth annual TeenLife LIVE! Community Service Fair & Expoon Sunday, March 3 from 12-4PM at The Mall at Chestnut Hill. Registrations for February 10 will be honored, and we will now be accepting new registations for March 3rd! It’s your chance to meet face-to-face with local non-profit representatives who are actively

seeking teen volunteers. You’ll also meet representatives from various programs and services catered to college-bound teens such as tutoring and test prep companies, summer programs, and gap year opportunities. The first 500 students to register will receive a TeenLife swag bag at the door! Register Now!

Summer Camp Fair, Jan. 27

The City of Newton is sponsoring its yearly summer camp fair on Sunday January 27, at Newton North High School from noon to 4pm.

Camps run by Newton Parks & Recreation and the Newton Public Schools, including Newton Community Education and SPACE camp, will be represented at the fair.

Come early to reserve your child’s spot in the program of his or her choice for Summer 2013 or to learn more about the many varied options offered in our city. More information about Newton’s camps is available on the Parks & Recreation Dept. website.

Summer Music Explorers: For Ages 5-8

The Summer Music Explorers Program at the All Newton Music School is tailored to children’s individual interests. The students expand their music, acting, and art skills, while socializing in a small group environment. Outdoor play is included in the day, faculty/counselor to student ratio is 1:6. Five week-long sessions offered. Monday-Friday from 8:45 am – 3:00 pm.

Session I: June 24th – June 28th  
Session ll:July 1st – July 5th  (no program July 4th)
Session lll: July 8th – July 12th
Session lV: July 15th – July 19th
Session V: July 22nd – July 26th

$200 per Session- I, III, IV, V, $160- Session II
