The Environmental Science Program still has openings for campers this summer!

“Envi Sci” is a unique month-long outdoor program for teenagers that gives students the chance to have fun enjoying the wilderness while learning about the science of the environment. Highlights include hikes to Blue Hills and Mount Monadnock, bicycle trips, a 12-mile canoe trip on the Charles River, an expedition through the salt marshes of the North shore, and an exhilarating three-day backpacking trip up Mount Washington.

Students learn about the environment through science workshops the leaders design, such as geology, botany, ecology, water cycle, pollution issues, and conservation. Register or get more information at http://www.newtonenvisci.org or email contact@newtonenvisci.org .

Summer Academic Coaching Sessions

Summer is rapidly approaching. How are you going to help limit the amount of ‘brain drain’ your student experiences over the summer months? Studies show that students who don’t keep up on their reading, writing and math over summer have a more difficult time getting into a groove the next school year.

Next Level Up Academic Coaching is offering elementary, middle, and high school students individualized summer sessions in their home designed to keep minds fresh and engaged, and fundamentals strong. Please contact Next Level Up to set up a free in-home meeting at 781-540-1123 or info@nextleveluptutoring.com. Please check out the newly designed website for more information, www.nextleveluptutoring.com .

Summer Music Camp

Plugged In’s Music That Matters is a summer day camp for kids ages 10-19 of all skill levels that includes band class, songwriting, recording a song for a CD, music video, workshops, offsite events, and performance opportunities. Students are grouped by age, skill level and musical interest. Each session ends with a benefit concert that raises money for a charitable organization chosen by the students themselves. Plugged In provides a nurturing and supportive community to which young musicians feel a sense of belonging, an opportunity to express and be acknowledged for their musical interests and a chance to use their music to help others around the world.

Music That Matters Summer Day Camp meets Monday through Friday from 9:00-3:00 in two 2-week sessions from July 6th-17th and from July 20th-31st. Extended day is available.
