Youth Tennis Clinics

Looking for a Tennis program to help strengthen and refine your child’s skill? Look no further than Youth Tennis Clinics at JCC Greater Boston.  Led by JCC Tennis Director and Boston College Assistant Women’s Coach, Doug Maynard, each week-long clinic will provide instruction and play within a progressive format using red, orange, green, and yellow balls designed for different ages and abilities.

Summer Camp at the John M Barry Boys & Girls Club

This summer the John M Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton will feature endless age-appropriate activities that include a summer full of Fine Arts, Coding, and Animation. Programs will capture your camper’s imagination and teach new skills throughout the summer.

Learn about Overnight Camp!
This summer is a great time to send your kids to the Y’s overnight camp, Camp Frank A. Day in East Brookfield, MA. At overnight camp, kids learn how to be more independent while also forming strong bonds and friendships. Adventure awaits! The Y is now offering Mini Camp sessions where freshmen campers between the ages of 7-10 can try out the overnight camp experience for just a week at a time rather than committing to the full three week session.

Register for Late Spring Programs
Session runs April 26th – June 20th . The Y remains committed to helping you and your family stay active, engaged, and safe. Stay active as a family by signing up for swimming, sports, music, and fitness programs! The Y also offers the option to “Create A Class,” where participants can form a group, such as a family, bubble, or cohort, to create their own custom class, including sports, aquatics, and fitness. Hospitality Homes 2021 Falmouth Road Race

Searching for people who have a passion for running and a commitment to supporting the Hospitality Homes mission. Hospitality Homes provides free (no cost) and low cost short-term housing in volunteer host homes and donated apartments for families and friends of patients seeking care at Boston-area health care organizations.

All funds raised will benefit the Hospitality Homes program. Runners will receive a guaranteed invitational entry bib & will be required to raise a minimum of $2,500.

Potential Race Scenarios:
– An in-person event (with a potentially reduced field size) – August 15th
– A hybrid event (virtual At-Home Edition and in-person with a reduced field size)
– A virtual At-Home Edition (fully virtual)

Black History Month: We Wear Black
Join the Y as we all celebrate Black History Month. Staff, members, and community are invited to take part in the “We Wear Black” initiative every Friday throughout February. We Wear Black to bring awareness to Black contributions to our society, celebrate Black excellence, and raise awareness of systemic racism and oppression. Stop by the Y’s Welcome Center on Fridays to get a We Wear Black logo sticker to show your support!

YBA: Youth Basketball Association
Early Spring League: February 27th - April 11th
Early Spring YBA Season begins this month! YBA is fun, coed basketball league for kids age 4-12. Y leagues offer children a safe and positive environment, supportive coaches, and new friendships while they learn and improve their skills.

YBA will be taking all COVID precautions, including transition buffers in between sessions, teams of 10 players, only one parent/guardian allowed to spectate while remaining physically distanced in the indoor track, and a mask requirement. Learn more: https://wsymca.org/sports

In 2020, the Y operated a fun and safe summer for hundreds of campers! In 2021, the Y plans to operate similarly with COVID safety procedures in place. Stand Strong, Stand Tall (TM) – Back to School Edition!

Artemis Girls – Stand Strong, Stand Tall (TM) – Back to School Edition!

This online “Back to School” edition is based on the popular Girls Empowerment Program for middle school girls!  This special Back to School Edition of Artemis Girls will prepare girls for the upcoming school year which will surely look and feel different for so many. It will be more important than ever to build strength, stamina and self-confidence in order to navigate the challenges this school year will bring. This innovative program helps girls to seek their own true voice with yoga, mindfulness, breath work, creative expression and self-reflection.

For girls grades 5 to 8 (approx ages 10 to 14), the program will be held online via Zoom. Please register by August 28th so that they know you are interested. This class requires a minimum of 8 students to be held. This program will be led by Tracy Affonso, an experienced school educator and youth yoga and mindfulness instructor.
