City of Newton annual Camp Fair

The City of Newton is holding their annual Camp Fair. Come see what is being offered in Newton for the summer of 2018! Child entertainment will be provided by Wicked Cool Science from 12:00 – 3:00 pm. Attached is the Camp Fair Flyer for more information.

New England Camp Fair – February 11th

If you have a child attending camp this summer, you don’t want to miss this free event: The New England Camp Fair. The camp fair is open to ALL local families.

Over 30 camps from Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire will be participating. Attending camps serve children ages 6-14, and represent a mix of day and overnight camps. Participating camps run the gamut from traditional style camps to sports, computer, arts and themed camps. Come to the fair with your prospective camper and meet in person with camp directors and representatives.

Inclusive Youth Rock Band Program

Plugged In is a unique nonprofit youth rock band program in Needham where young musicians of all levels and needs are welcome. Registration is open for both the spring and summer sessions.

Spring Session Registration (ages 7-19)
Spring session classes begin: February 2nd

Plugged In Music That Matters Summer Day Camp (ages 11-18)
Session I dates: July 9th – 20th (maximum of 25 students per session)
Session II dates: July 23rd – August 3rd (maximum of 25 students per session)
Hours: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (extended hours available)

Founded in 2002, Plugged In now has over 150 students from all over Massachusetts. Some students experience emotional and learning difficulties, such as ADD, depression, and low-self-esteem and/or have special needs such as autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. In the loving and non-competitive atmosphere at Plugged In, all differences are transcended through a shared passion for music, the teamwork involved with using music to help others and an atmosphere of compassion and fun.

In addition to weekly ensemble band classes, private lessons, songwriting workshops, summer camp and community performances, five times a year Plugged In students perform in benefit concerts that raise money for causes and organizations chosen by the students themselves. Plugged In provides a nurturing and supportive community to which young musicians feel a sense of belonging, an opportunity to express and be acknowledged for their musical interests and a chance to use their music to help others around the world.

Summer Camp Open House

The Chestnut Hill School Summer Day Camp is accredited with The American Camping Association, and provides enriching art, swimming, sport, drama, science and music experiences for children ages 3-14; trip options available for older campers.
Registration for 2018 (June 25th – August 17th) is now open.

Camp Kingswood Open House

Camp Kingswood, the JCC overnight camp, will hold an open house. Meet the camp director and staff and learn how Camp Kingswood is a place to be active, a place to make lifelong friends and a place to build Jewish identity.

Located on a beautiful waterfront in Bridgton, Maine, Kingswood is a coed overnight camp for kids entering grades 3-11. Campers and experienced staff create a fun, positive, and diverse community where Jewish values and exciting activities in sports, outdoor adventure, water sports and visual and performing arts are the core of the program. Zohar Special Needs Inclusion Program (ages 10-17) and Zohar Special Needs Vocational Program (ages 17-21) also available.
