Have Fun Dancing Over February Break

Stay active over February break and learn some new dance moves! Students will enjoy a mix of dance styles along with fun games and arts and crafts! Open to boys and girls of all levels ages 3-6 years and 7-12 years. Join for 1 day or all 3!

This program is taught by the experienced faculty at the Joanne Langione Dance Center in West Newton. Newton Girls Softball

Newton Girls Softball Rec League is for girls in kindergarten to 7th grade. Supportive coaches teach the fundamentals of softball and develop confidence, determination, and resiliency. Team sports can play a great role helping girls face challenges as they get older. There is a place for girls of all ability levels in Softball, in a different way from soccer, basketball, and lacrosse.

Learn-to-Skate Lessons

Do you want to introduce your kids to ice skating or get them ready for hockey, recreational or figure skating and give them the opportunity to skate with other kids their age? Bay State Skating School is a non-profit organization that has for over 50 years dedicated itself to introducing kids to the joys of ice skating. Professional instructors teach Recreational, Figure and Hockey skating skills to children ages 4 – 18, from absolute beginners to experienced skaters.

Classes are held at the Newton/Brighton Daly Rink on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00 pm; at the Cleveland Circle Reilly Rink on Thursdays and Fridays at 4:00 pm and Sundays at 1:00 pm; West Roxbury Roche Arena on Sundays at 4:00 pm; and at the Waltham Veterans Rink on Saturday at 1:00 pm and Sundays at 4:00 pm.

February Vacation Week Programming February Vacation Week is around the corner! They offer three childcare programs from February 18th – 21th. Out of School Time Vacation Programs are structured similarly to a day at camp, with a mix of activities such as fun games, creative projects, and free swim. Sports Vacation Clinics may include soccer, basketball, baseball, swimming, and more. In addition, there are also new Creative Arts vacation programs! Kindergarten Soccer registration for the Spring 2020 season is OPEN!

The Pre-K Division is for children in preschool who will enter Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year and the Kindergarten Division for children currently enrolled in Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year.

Games will be played on Saturday morning (no games on May 2nd and May 23rd). Games dates are April 18th, April 25th, May 9th, May 16th, May 30th and June 6th.  No rain dates.

Newton Youth Hockey for girls

It’s never too late to learn! Newton Youth Hockey is hosting a free introductory skating and hockey event for girls ages 9-14. This is a great opportunity for girls interested in hockey to try it out.
