Guitar Lessons In Your Home

Maldi Kellici, a Berklee College of Music graduate with 12 plus years of teaching experience, is seeking a limited number of students for private/group guitar lessons. Lessons are offered in your home. All levels are welcome, including beginners. Through a comprehensive approach that combines technique, ear training and fretboard harmony, he will help your son or daughter develop music skills applicable to all styles of guitar playing.

S/he will learn to play and analyze songs and solos from a broad range of musical genres, and sharpen their overall musical skills.  Maldi also helps students interested in song-writing & composition. Newton Destination Imagination Registration OPEN

The 2018 – 2019 Season for Newton Destination Imagination (DI) is open!  Click HERE to register. Newton DI is an inclusive STEAM- based creative problem solving competition for students in grades K-12.

Teams of up to 7 kids will choose to work on one of six challenges that will test their teamwork, project management and creativity skills. To learn more about the program, please visit the website for FAQs and a short intro video.

Newton Youth Players adds classes

Two new exciting classes have joined the popular youth theatre program. The cast sizes are small, so don’t wait! Visit www.newtonyouthplayers.com for more information and to register.

Spotlight Players is for middle school students only, who would like to further explore acting techniques. The Fall program, now enrolling, is “Come to the Cabaret”. The class is led by local actor and director Judi Pava, who has extensive experience with middle school and high school aspiring actors!

Musical Theatre Studio is a fun winter program that will focus on stage skills – musical theater, acting and improv. The smaller class size will allow for more focus on individual skill development. Directed by local actors/directors Hannah Rosenberg and Linda Goetz, it is open to children in grades 2 through 5.

Chess for Middle Schoolers (Tuesdays grades 6-8)

All That Jazz Dance Studio registration now open

All That Jazz Dance Studio is still accepting registration for the 2018-2019 school year. They specialize in building self-esteem and creating a warm, supportive and nurturing environment for all children as they learn the art of dance. Free youth boxing program

Nonantum Boxing Club is excited to announce their new FREE Youth after school program for youth ages 10-17.

Sessions are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school for 90 minutes. If a student expresses interest in furthering their boxing journey, there is an opportunity to train with the elite team on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays as well. Morning Childcare Needed – Perfect for Newton SPED Aides or Interns!

Newton parent looking for morning help getting 2 tweens up and onto their door-to-door transportation. Her daughter is 12 & has social-emotional special needs. Often she can get ready in the morning with no issues, but she’ll be going to an earlier school and she’s a moody tween. She will likely be out the door by 7:30 am.

Her son is 11 and also has social-emotional special needs. He can struggle getting through morning routines. His van likely won’t arrive until 8 am, so they’ll need someone who can stay with him after she leaves around 7:45.

Required:
*professional childcare experience
*sense of humor
*transportation
*LGBT friendly

Preferred:
*experience w/ social-emotional special needs
*background in trauma (PTSD, Developmental Trauma Disorder)
*experience with conduct disorders and/or mood disorders
*background in social work and/or special ed
