Are you ready to Kick, Punt, Pass and Cheer?

The Newton Mustangs offer football and cheer for all children in grades 2 through 8. There are no try outs and all players are placed on teams according to grade.

There will be a Kick, Punt, Pass and Cheer Clinic on June 21st – 6:00 p.m. at the West Suburban YMCA. Practice the basics or grow your skills in football and cheerleading. All who are interested in learning about the Mustangs are encouraged to join the clinic. Clinic location: 276 Church St, Newton Corner.

Summer with Newton Community Education

Sign your kids up for summer programs with NCE. We still have openings in Newton Rocks!, Power Programming, Fabric Painting Workshop, Rocket Science, Club Invention, Clay Workshop, and lots more.

We have programs running on Thursday and Friday of the last week of school too! We have half- and full-day programs for kids ages 4-14. Scientists, seamstresses, and sports fans will all find something they love, and all are welcome to join us.

“Please Sir, I want some more”…

There are still a few spots open for the Newton Youth Players’ summer theatre program production of “Oliver!”.

The first rehearsal will take place on June 27th at Newton City Hall in the War Memorial Auditorium. Rehearsals are from 9:00 a.m. – noon, giving ample time to work on choreography, scenery and props production. The subsequent rehearsals and performance will be at Franklin Elementary School, 125 Derby Street in Newton. The performance is July 17th. Please register at www.newtonyouthplayers.com

For those looking for a full day of theatrical experience, there is a wonderful companion afternoon program “Choices” from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Directed by Marlene Fereshetian and Ruth Housman, it is an original story building program, using music, humor, magic, dance and art. This program will also spend its opening day at Newton City Hall, and then continue to Franklin School. Registration and more information is at www.newtonyouthplayers.com.

April Vacation program, Swingin’ Safari

Spring is in the air, and that means April Vacation is just around the corner! Watertown Children’s Theater has opened up their April Vacation program, Swingin’ Safari, to fifth graders! Co-produced by WCT and arsenalARTS, it will be a week of drama, music, and visual art that is not to be missed!
