K-5 Summer Soccer Fun

Meet new friends and have a blast while learning and developing skills with coaching from Be Ahead of the Game. Children will be broken up into groups based on age, grade, and ability. They will practice proper techniques through drills, small sided games, and scrimmages. All games and drills will be age appropriate and are sure to improve skills.

These clinics at Cabot Field will be a great opportunity to have fun, learn and meet new friends in a “no pressure,” non-competitive environment. Clinics will be conducted for children entering grades K-5 from Monday through Thursday with Fridays reserved as rain dates.

Session 1: August 11th-14th, Session 2: August 18th-21st, Session 3: August 25th-28th

Highlands After School Program

It’s not too late to sign up! Calling all 5th graders entering Brown and Oak Hill Middle Schools: Highlands After School Program is still taking applications for the upcoming school year. Transportation is arranged from the school to their great location in Newton Highlands / Hyde Community Gym with lots of fun activities.

NCA Strawberry Festival, June 12th

Come to the Newton Cultural Alliance’s Second Annual Strawberry Festival. The Strawberry Festival is being hosted by Alderman Vicki Danberg at 30 Chase Street in Newton Centre. Hats off to the NCA! Little League’s Summer 2014 Sandlot Season now open

Registration for Newton SouthEast Little League’s Summer 2014 Sandlot Season is now open!

Following the tremendous success of the Sandlot program last year, NSELL is pleased to announce registration for the Summer 2014 Sandlot Program is open.

Instead of forming teams with set rosters and coaching staffs they will instead be conducting “Sandlot Baseball Nights” and will provide shirts, hats, umpires, coaches and other game-related logistics. The objective is to give everyone a chance to have fun playing competitive baseball in a well organized environment. They’ll set up teams on site each game night. All participants must be registered for “Sandlot Baseball” in order to play on a given night.

Boston College Lady Eagles Soccer School

Come join the Boston College staff and team at their summer clinics! The focus of the summer clinics is to provide fun and development for young ladies ages 6-14 at the incredible facility at BC .

Watertown Children’s Theatre presents

Grease: School Version, Music and Lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Book by James Lapine.  Jump back to the 1950’s at Rydell High School. This version of the timeless classic contains the fun-loving music of the original, but edits some content to be more appropriate for young audiences.

Newton Youth Players summer

There are still some openings for kids in grades 1 – 6 in the Newton Youth Players adapted summer production of the all time favorite hit ‘Annie’ inspired by the well-known comic strip. Based on Little Orphan Annie and her dog Sandy and their search for a family of their own in depression-era New York City. Popular songs include Tomorrow, It’s the Hard-Knock Life, Maybe and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.

From June 30th – July 24th, 9:00am – Noon at Newton City Hall, young actors work with specialists in drama, music, scenery design and choreography, culminating in a wonderful musical production.

Need a full day of summer activity? The New Art Center is now running a program in Newton City Hall from 1:00 – 3:00 pm,  June 30th – July 17th. An afternoon of visual arts, including collage, printing, 3D and inventions. Call 617-796-1540 for more information.
