NewtonServes 2014

A Day of Community Service: A project of Newton Community Pride, Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs and the Newton Parks and Recreation Department.

NewtonServes Day is the kickoff for NewtonSERVES Volunteer Week. Mayor Setti D. Warren is encouraging religious organizations, schools and non-profits to identify service projects that need volunteers. He is also asking citizens, businesses and civic organizations to volunteer and make a difference in the community.

There are lots of ways that you can volunteer including: donating food to the local food pantries, delivering meals to a sick neighbor or friend, tutoring a child, picking up litter in your neighborhood, donating blood at your local Red Cross, or volunteering on Sunday April 27 for the Day of Community Service.
