Morning, Afternoon and All Day Projects
NewtonSERVES—A Day of Community Service is the kickoff for NewtonSERVES Volunteer Week. Mayor Setti D. Warren is encouraging religious organizations, schools and non-profits to identify service projects that need volunteers. He is also asking citizens, businesses and civic organizations to volunteer and make a difference in the community.
There are lots of ways that you can volunteer including: donating food to the local food pantries, delivering meals to a sick neighbor or friend, tutoring a child, picking up litter in your neighborhood, donating blood at your local Red Cross, or volunteering on Sunday April 26th for the Day of Community Service.
Do you have a project that you would like to be part of NewtonSERVES? Each project must be organized by a NEWTON non-profit, community service agency, city department, or a group of citizens (e.g., neighbors cleaning up a park). Sorry, no businesses or political action groups.
