The R.A.D. (Rape. Aggression. Defense.) Self-Defense for Women Program, taught by the Newton Police Department, is for girls and women ages 15 years and older, that covers topics of risk awareness and risk reduction. Along with the lecture portion, the majority of time is spent learning hands on techniques. Participants work at their own pace to learn that they are capable of physically defending themselves if the situation arises. This Program is especially important for high school juniors and seniors who may be travelling abroad this summer and/or attending college in the fall.
